Aristotele University of Thessaloniki, Department of Civil Engineering (Greece) is specialised in hydrogeology and hydro-economics completed by the Bulgarian Academy of Science, Institute of Water Problems in water resource management. University of Salzburg, Department of Geography and Geoinformation (Austria) is highly qualified in geo-information technology and management of regional data and is supported by Federal Institute of Agricultural Economics (Austria) a very competent subcontractor in the field of agricultural policy, agricultural economics and rural development. Geo Group a.s. (Czech Republic) a private consulting firm is providing expertise in economic (hydro-) geology, environmental engineering and regional management. InterConsult Group ASA (Norway) is also a highly qualified consultant with special emphasis on regional risk modelling and multivariate integration of regional data. Further research experience and know how in the field of ecology/biology the Institute of the Industrial Ecology Problems of the North, Apatity, Russia, provides. Geonardo Environmental Technologies (Hungary) is a private firm completing the research team with qualified experience in handling, analysis and interpretation of remote sensing data. University of Jena, Department of Geography (Germany) will contribute significantly in the fields of digital image processing, economic geography and integrated systems analysis. The University of Miskolc, Department of Hydro- and Engineering Geology (Hungary) will complete the research group with specialists in engineering geology as well as in soil, agricultural and environmental sciences. All partners have a proven record in scientific publications and in participation and management of international projects.
